Lullaby Moon

Ever since I saw my first image of a Lullaby Moon production, I have been wanting to see it live. The 2010 production just happened to take place down the hill from us at Gas Works Park. The girls and I got there at dusk just in time to find a patch of grass. We watched in wonderment as creatures arrived by boat, dancers pranced down the paths, and the musicians played virtually every song with the word "moon" in it. It was well worth the wait. The girls thought it was just as magical as I did and were talking about it as I tucked them into bed.

Where's the Green Sheep?

So, Audrey's at school and Piper doesn't start for a couple more weeks. We took advantage of it and caught a Children's Theatre production of Green Sheep. It was very cute! Supposedly, it's going to get a write up in the Wall Street Journal. I'll keep you posted.

Audrey's First Day of School

There were a lot of "I'm scared of kindergarten." There were some (Mama) tears. But, in the end, she loves it! Congratulations, big girl! I'm so proud of you.

Cooper Lake Revisited

Cooper Lake Album 2010

It's been three years since the first time we camped at Cooper Lake. It was as beautiful as we remembered it. Now that the girls are older they were able to enjoy swimming in the lake and explore our campsite more freely. We're trying to get the most out of these last few weeks of summer. Wish us luck!

Hit the Road, Jack!

Ok, we don't have anyone named "Jack" in our family, but we did hit the road. First, off to the Oregon Coast for Uncle Dean's memorial. It was great to spend time with the Adams side of the family and get to know one of Tutu's favorite places.

Next stop, Black Butte Ranch.

We had a great time catching up with friends, swimming, and biking. Mimi & Grandpa came over for a few days for a visit and Grandpa taught us how to fish. Alas, the fish weren't jumping. Especially for our pepperoni bait.

Zoo Camp 2010

This is the second year in a row that Audrey & Landry have attended Zoo Camp together. Landry said, "Can we do this every year?" Yes, you can!

Taquala Lake

Taquala Lake Album
We headed out of town for the weekend. Our destination was Lake Kachess, but we had no luck finding a campsite. We drove on, braving a long gravel road and a low gas tank. What we found at the end was a dream, Taquala Lake. We found a huge campsite along the lake with views of the nearby mountain peaks. The wild flowers were in bloom. We enjoyed the company of our friends and the kids managed a four mile round trip hike. Most of us could only manage to dip our toes into the icy cold lakes and creeks, but a couple were brave and took a swim. We can't wait for our next camping trip!
